Labs, Vitals, and Local Testing

For patients seen virtually, the provider may request labs, vitals, or other testing to be completed at a clinic, lab facility, or medical office near the patient’s location. This may be required before starting or continuing certain medications.

Prescriptions and Controlled Substances

Medication decisions are made by the treating provider based on clinical need, diagnosis, safety, and applicable law.

Controlled substance prescribing must comply with all federal and state laws. Restrictions and exclusions may apply to certain medications when care is provided through telehealth. A telehealth visit does not guarantee that a controlled substance will be prescribed.

Insurance and Payment

Eustasis accepts insurance in most cases. Coverage for telehealth services may vary by insurance plan, state, network status, and benefit design.

Patients should contact their insurance carrier directly to confirm telehealth benefits, exclusions, copays, deductibles, and medication coverage.

When Telehealth Is Not Appropriate

Telehealth is for non-emergent psychiatric care.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, suicidal thoughts with intent, severe withdrawal, psychosis with immediate safety concerns, or danger to yourself or others, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
